New forms of innovation partnerships –
the business perspective
16-17 June 2011
British Embassy Berlin, Wilhelmstr. 70, 10117 Berlin
Close collaboration between business and science is essential for
successful innovation. New forms of cooperation develop rapidly and
adapt to the changing needs of innovation processes. Examples include
strategic partnerships, university-industry campus models, corporate
venturing, highly flexible modes of knowledge exchange such as crowd
sourcing or virtual innovation networks.
This conference presented and discussed best practice on new models for
interdisciplinary research collaboration at both national and international
level. The focus was on the strengths and challenges of these models,
their transferability and how they match specific business aims. But the
conference also addressed the wider framework of business-science
collaboration – competences & skills, culture & climate – in a discussion
with representatives of business, academics and policy-makers.
